The debut recording from the early ’90‘s. As Caesar said at the Rubicon: “The die is cast.”
CENTRAL STANDARD TIME
A CENTRAL STANDARD CHRISTMAS
Carrying the torch of modern straight ahead jazz.
If Sonny Rollins had of recorded a Christmas record in the late 50’s........ and one later period Coltrane quartet arrangement.
Just like it says, 3 straight days of recording - 1 great CD.
The follow-up to the Gate of Believers. “Modern, aggressive, full of soul, and uniquely Jeffrey Scot Wills.”
Denny is somebody you should know about. I’m on these two discs, but do yourself a favor and check out all of his stuff. His new “Jiosa On The Edge” CD with my buddies John Toomey and Jon Boehm is going to make a mark.
Other notable music
(pun intended)
Shane and I were friends when he was in town. Back in New Orleans, he has proven himself to be what I always thought about him - one of the best. The debut CD I’m on is great, and the later ones (which he didn’t use me on.......) are even better. Not because I’m not on them though!
I came out of a self-imposed isolation and low point in my life (long story) to play for T. It was a great band playing behind a great singer and helped me get back into the groove.
More than any other band, DMHO was the right situation at the right time. I don’t think I would be who I am today without having been on the road with these guys.
Leo was the keyboardist when I was with T and he’s gone on to write and record some great stuff too.
I met Louie while playing and recording with Dash Crofts (Seals and Crofts). Louie liked how I sounded and I ended up working with him for a while.
Denny Jiosa recommended me to William Woods.
